Piano

Our piano teachers will customize a personalized program based on every student's developmental stage, personal characteristics, and personal goals.  The program will cover elements of proper piano technique, music notation and theory, aural training, sight-reading, exposure to various music styles (from Classical to Pop and Jazz) and to a vast piano repertoire. For private piano lessons students must be 4 1/2 year old or older. Children under 5 can join our beginners program which will introduce them to variety of music concepts in a fun and age appropriate group experience.

Piano instruction is offered as a weekly: 30 minute private lesson for beginners, 45 minute for intermediate or 60 minute private lesson for advanced students. Our program is based on American and European methods.

Piano students will need to have a piano or a full size keyboard at home in order to establish a practicing routine which is vital to the students progress and development. We recommend that students learn on a good acoustic piano but we understand that buying a piano can require a major financial investment and will take a lot of space in your home. For the first few years of learning, a full size electronic piano with weighted keys can be an easier and less expensive alternative. If you need more information or guidance in buying or renting a piano please don't hesitate to contact us 773 467 9000.

We believe performing often is very important aspect of a music student's development as it teaches the children how to present themselves in front of an audience, it boosts self confidence, it offers an opportunity to share the joy of making music and to learn form seeing other performances. MA PaSO hosts student recitals twice a year at Copernicus Center and libraries around the neighborhood but we also offer opportunities to perform in professional venues around the city such as: Copernicus Center our chorus perform also at Orchestra Hall at Symphony Center, at the Chicago Cultural Center or PianoForte Foundation.

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

All students at AM of PaSO have the opportunity to perform in student solo recitals held 2 times a year,

but we are also serving our Community by playing Concerts!

Students love to perform for our community!
Each year, we play 12-14 concerts outside of our school.

We enjoy to perform the best classical and popular music of the World - we grow with Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and other famous and great composers, but we are very proud to add to Chicago’s musical landscape a richness and beauty of Polish music.

We are especially proud of our signature projects, such as Music of Polish Kings, which received a Best of the Best ranking in a survey of Chicago Public Libraries.

Other special projects include:

Tea at Chopin’s, a musical tale about the childhood of Fryderyk Chopin,
Ignaś, the boy with a colorful head – an incredible, fascinating journey into the mind and                                       music of Ignacy Jan Paderewski,
Christmas around the World – a concert of holiday music and favorite carols from around the                               world,
Carnivals of Animals by Camille Saint-Saens, featuring best pianists of our school in solo                                    parts of the masterpiece,

Our students often take a part in larger events, including Chopin in the City Festival, Taste of Polonia, and Magic of Christmas Festival, as well as in many social and community events in the Chicagoland area.
